Meet Me on Monday

Welcome to another addition of Meet Me on Monday Blog Hop.
Hosted by Java at Never Growing Old.
Its a fun hop and a great way to start a Monday!
Each week she asks five questions and we answer them on our blogs.
What are your answers to these questions?

1.  What jewelry do you wear 24/7?
I wear my wedding set all the time. I also wear a herringbone chain my parents gave me years ago. It has a lovely heart pendant that Mr. Bernie gave me for my birthday one year. I also like to wear necklaces that my friend Teresa has made me. I try to wear big hooker earring just for fun. I look like a street walker, but they are fun. Mom sends them to me for Christmas and Birthdays.

2.  Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it?

I’m a twirl my spaghetti and use a spoon to help twirl it. I prefer rigatoni. We had that when I was growing up.

3.  How many siblings do you have?

Brett and his wife Julie at our wedding. They are huge Vikings fans.

I have a younger  brother. His name is Brett and he is married with 3 great kids. He is a great dad and a favorite of all of my cousins kids.

4.  Were you named after anyone?
I was named after St. Bernadette of Lourdes. I was born premature and had the last rites preformed on me. Mom wanted a saints name for me. St. Bernadette was a young girl who dug a hole where the Virgin Mary told her to. The water that appeared has healing properties. Many people make a pilgrimage for the healing waters. She died young.  For our Halloween wedding, my friend Cheryl dressed up as St. Bernadette. I thought that was such a special and surprising costume.

5.  Coke or Pepsi?
I’m a Diet Coke girl from way back. If I’m not drinking coffee, I’m drinking Diet Coke.

  1. I am continually looking online for ideas that can benefit me. Thanks!

  2. Every post I have read this week has the answer of their wedding rings, I think that is sweet, it would be my answer too. I love learning all of these little facts!

    • I kept waiting for someone to say something like a nose ring or a nipple ring. Nope just the wedding rings.

  3. Ohhh I am late making the rounds tonight! I love the ring picture, your nails looked so cool!! Can’t wait to see what you come up with for when you come visit. :)

  4. Hi Bernie! I’m back! So, let’s see…

    1. I used to wear a lot more jewelry – rings, bracelets, necklace, earrings. These days, engagement and wedding ring…and a watch. Yup. That’s it. And now with my 14+ pound weight loss they are starting to get a little loose. Gotta love it!

    2. I’m a twirler, but rarely use a spoon to do it. I know. I’m a rebel. ;-P

    3. I have two sisters, both younger, a step-sister who is older and a step-brother (who I never talk to) who is six months younger.

    4. Jewish tradition is to name after someone who has died. There’s a twist though. You generally don’t use the actual name but the initial. I was named after a great grandmother who died by electrocuting herself, getting out of a bathtub and somehow touching an electric heater that was in the bathroom.

    5. I don’t drink any soda. I quit years ago. I don’t do artificial sweeteners and I don’t like that much sugar.

That was fun! See you soon!

    • Good for you!! You are going to have to have them sized soon. What a treat.
      You are a rebel.
      Bigger family.
      Wow, your poor Grandma.
Mr. Bernie doesn’t drink soda either.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Love your wedding rings! Stunning! How do you do all that card making with those nails!?? I’d be cutting them off with the scissors!

    • Thank you. I like white gold. I have some other rings I could wear if my fingers weren’t so darn fat.
I have had my nails since last July. I’m thinking of taking them off this week and let my nails grow a bit. Then put them back on for the summer.

  6. 1 – None, not even my wedding ring. I am not a jewelry girl and since I have arthritis in my hands I do not like to wear rings. I gave up earrings when I had Henry the Tumor removed since my left ear has little to no feeling so I cannot tell if I have the backs on too tight.
2 – I twirl, no spoon. Anna Maria’s grandmother used to give me the evil eye for using a spoon, so I learned to not use it.
3 – I jokingly say 1.5 since they are half sibs (mother’s first hubby died in service). So, if you double it, 3.
4 – Nope. I am Irish on both sides and Kelly is a nice Irish name. My kids on the other hand are named after people – my son is Roger III after his father and grandfather and my daughter is Patricia Joyce (2 first names, no middle name) after her grandmothers. But, they go by nicknames – Trey (middle English for the third) and PJ (because she is just that sassy and Patricia Joyce is a bigger name than she is.)
5 – Not a soda drinker. On the rare occasions when I do have a soda it is a Diet Dr. Pepper.

    • Wow! I don’t think I would wearing earrings either if I didn’t know know tight they were.
      You go girl.
I bet its nice to have extra siblings.
True, Kelly is a nice name for an Irish lass. The kids have nice names.
I like a Dr. Pepper now and then as well.

  7. Oh my goodness –your hand picture looks sssoooooo much better than MY hand picture!!! I should have done a mani before I snapped it!!! Love the reason for your name and LOVE even more that you are here to share on this blog!!!! Thanks for sharing today! Now I know a teensy bit more about you!!!

    • Oh hush. I took that when I had my nails done and wanted to show my g/fs back home how they looked.
      Thank you. :)

  8. 1- I wear only my 10th Anniversary ring. I'm no longer the waif my Hubby married and neither my engagement ring nor my wedding band fit. As it is, I'm going to need a 16th Anniversary ring 'cause this one is kinda snug. Or I could just lose a few pounds…nah, I want the bling. ;)

    2 – I'm a definite twirler…with a spoon.

3 – Counting my step-siblings…I have 5 older brothers, 1 younger brother and three younger sisters. I take "middle child" to a whole new level. ;)

4 – Yep. Both my middle names are after my grandmothers…no, I'm not telling you what they are. Although they do kind of flow nicely between my two first names and my two last names. Wha??? Names are like shoes, you can never have too many.

5 – Honestly, neither. Pop gives me gas and I have a hard time burping. Did I mention I'm a bit weird?

    • Good idea, go with the bling!
      Oh, another spoon twirler.
Wow, that is a whole parcel of family.
      Ya big tease.
Mr. Bernie doesn’t drink pop due to the appertain. So I don’t find it weird at all you don’t drink pop.
