Back in the Saddle Again

Man, getting back into blogging is rough. It makes me think I should have asked all my clever blogging friends to guest post for me while I was on vacation. I feel like I’m behind on their posts, your posts and my posts. Yesterday, I was finally able to get to the most current posts for some of my blogging buddies. I’m starting to get back into the swing of reading and commenting.

I keep staring at Mr. Bernie and willing him to do something amusing. Then I suggest he do something amusing. He reminded me that it doesn’t work that way. Which causes me to whine, “Why not?” He just rolls his eyes at me and goes back to watching t.v. Perhaps if we actually left the house for something other than work? I’m not quite sure.

We did have a big outing to the grocery store yesterday. Nothing exciting happened there. Well I did get some new ice cream. Michele told me that Ben and Jerry’s makes a Red Velvet ice-cream. I so want to try that. Who doesn’t like red velvet cake? Cake and ice cream, that should be wonderful. That is a splurge we don’t normally make. However, after standing in the freezer isle batting my baby browns and whining, we picked some up. It’s in the freezer screaming my name. I keep asking Mr. Bernie if he can hear the ice cream screaming my name. He claims he can’t hear it. He is old, so maybe his hearing is going.

Tomorrow I will be posting a Wordless Wednesday. Not sure what I will be posting, but I’m sure I’ll find something fun and amusing. I miss looking for those vintage ads.

My friend, Mary Lauren from My 3 Little Birds has a great article at Sits today. Its called, How to Live in the Moment. If you get a chance go check it out.

  1. I only learned recently what red velvet cake is – and now it comes in ice cream form? You guys just have all the fun!

  2. I could imagine! I wasn't gone on any vacation lately and it was dang hard to write anything!
But here to tell you, you're doing everything right, and I'm glad you're back from having too much fun ;)!

That Red Velvet ice cream is calling my name too…. I can hear it…

  3. You know why Mr. Bernie can't hear your ice cream calling your name? Its because his Otter Pops are yelling too loudly at him. ;-) Hope you enjoy it after I hyped it all up!

Now I want some Cherry Garcia! YUM! Oh, and Jeremy never does amusing things on demand either…they should both really try harder. :)

I'm having a tough time getting back into the swing of things, too, Bernie…and I don't even have a vacation to blame it on…just a couple of weeks of deep depression. :(

  5. A date to the grocery store to buy ice cream…that sounds kind of familiar, maybe because my husband and I go on a date to the grocery store also. That ice cream sounds delish.

  6. I don't like red velvet cake. But I'm weird, so you know, it's expected. I don't leave the house for anything other than work, either – I love learning that there are others out there!

  7. When I gotta have something really great, I get Hagen Das Cherries Garcia, but then it takes all kinds, doesn't it? So glad you are back to blogging. Missed you and Mr Bernie and your fun life together. xo

  8. PJ was not enamored of the Red Velvet Ice Cream – she adores Red Velvet cake, though. She said it just was not the same.

  9. Red Velvet and Chunky Monkey and Chubby Hubby and I love Ben & Jerry's. :)

    • I must admit I don\’t do much Ben and Jerry\’s. I was a big Hagenz Daz whore when I lived in NJ. I don\’t eat a bunch of ice cream. I love the names Ben and Jerry\’s come up with for ice creams. That Chunky Monkey and Chubby Hubby love the names.

  10. NO. WAY. There is red velvet ice cream???????????????? I can't wait to get some of that!!! Yum, yum, yum. Also? I totally get how men just won't perform on command. Well, you know what I mean.

    • Hey you! Thanks for stopping by. I have not seen you in ages. Not only is there Red Velvet ice cream but Red Velvet yogurt! Eat it with a plastic spoon and its a nice little treat.

  11. Even when you're talking about how you don't have anything to talk about, you are still hilarious! XD

  12. I love how you take the mundane and make me chuckle! Welcome back Bernie!!

  13. I already like the title of your friend's post – living in the moment! I'm glad you're getting back in the swing – I missed your posts – I mean, where else am I going to learn about Ben and Jerry's newest? Please do a review of it – that will give you permission to taste test many times!!

    • Thank you. Oh, I will have to do a review on it. The permission is going to be helpful. I will tell Mr. Bernie that I need to do this for research. Darn it.
