Wordless Wednesday

Girdle Rash never occurred to me.
I love the image, she is showing you where to put the powder.
Note that its medicated skin care.
Did any of you grow up in a time when you had to wear a girdle?
I’m guessing it was a bit more cumbersome than Spanx.

  • Glad girdles went the way of the dodo bird. We have enough chafing to deal with these days without adding ‘girdle rash’ to the list.

  • I remember my mom wearing a full-length girdle. Does that count? I wore some type of half “girdle” with archaic latches to hold up my fish-net stockings during my pre-teen/early teen years, in the days before pantyhose.

  • Mary:

I remember girdles but I didn’t wear them much. I believed and still do in comfort not pain when it comes to dressing.

  • Michele:

They still make this powder but it now says it dries the oozing and weeping wounds caused by poison Ivy Oak and Sumac. Just what did they put in girdles back in the day?!?!

  • Another great ad! Yes, I remember wearing a girdle (early 1960s, before pantyhose were invented) to hold up my stockings. I never remember having girdle rash and having never tried Spanx, I can’t compare them to girdles. Regardless, I’m glad those days are over with!

  • Cathy W:

3 ways it gives more thorough relief?? What are they? :-D I wonder what ‘ordinary’ powders are, too.

I love these Bernie! Thanks for sharing!
