A Glimpse Into the Future

299pot-pie

Mr. Bernie and I were rear-ended last Friday. The car is drivable but its a big pain in the brain, figuratively and literally.  Mr. Bernie has had a headache ever since the accident. He finally agreed to go see a Doctor on Tuesday. Mr. Bernie had a plate put in his neck about 15 years ago to fuse part of his spine. My concern was that was that it was somehow jostled and that was causing the headaches. My other concern was that Mr. Bernie couldn't concentrate or focus on things. He is always sharp as a tac, which has his drawbacks at time. However, watching him squint and not really be able to do anything scared me. It turned out that his fusion is fine and the Doctor thinks it's all tension and gave him some meds. to alleviate the pain. That made me very happy and we went right to the pharmacy. The pharmacy is next door to a Perkin's Restaurant so we decided to have an early dinner while we waited. It was about 4:30pm and as I looked around the restaurant I noticed that everyone was … [Read more...]

Have You Ever?

ID-100224548

Have you ever had one of those days when everything is making you mad or sad? Your husband is breathing normally and you want to smother him? Even when he doesn't have a cold that makes him sound like Darth Vader. Everyone who comes into your shop gets on your nerves. A simple, "Hi", can make you come unglued. It seems as if everyone is making stupid decisions that are not in their own best interest and they do them anyway.  The beeping of your cell phone that you have a message makes you want to toss your phone across the room. Your husband picks you up a  yummy coffee is too hot or too cold or to something. Suddenly, everything that you have been putting off and not worrying about is a huge issue for you? Talking to anyone seems like too much effort so you don't talk? You eye Dr. adjusts your contacts to something better and that is annoying? Your husband buys you a piece of fudge and even that is too much to eat? Nothing sounds good. Everything sounds good. The dogs are doing … [Read more...]

This is My Week to Wait

http://newspiritchurch.org/?p=3463

I hope that were ever you are the weather is not upteen below zero. In Billings its about 1 degree, but at least that is above 0. A huge plus! My family in friend's in Minnesota have a huge cold snap happening right now. Minnesota was colder than Mars! That is a cool tidbit, but not so special for the folks actually living in the cold. Enough with the weather report. I'm going to have a blog re-do this week!! I'm so excited I could piddle. A friend on Facebook suggested a designer for me. (Seriously, you can find anything on Facebook) Anyway, the gal who is going to spiff  up my blog knows what she is in for. I had her take a peek "under the hood" before she started. A ton of outdated plug-ins,  a whole bunch of plug-ins that have been de-activated or activated.  The back-end of my blog is a huge mess. This gal told me to write out a list of what I wanted done to my blog, I was shocked when I saw how big it was. It makes me look greedy or just stupid that I can't/won't fix this stuff … [Read more...]

Bedtime is an Olympic Sport

http://www.freedigitalphotos.net

For most people,  going to bed is a simple process. Its a matter of crawling into bed and covering up and going to sleep.  At our house, its not quite that easy. You might we wondering, why? Do we live near train tracks or people are blaring their car stereos all night?  No, it's not that. We have pets. Its as simple as that. For those of you who are pet owners, I think you can relate to this. A typical bedtime starts with shutting off the lights and telling the dogs its bedtime. By the time we get to bed Luke and Abby, the cats, are curled up on my side of the bed. Then Gwynnie, our old toothless cat, hops on the foot of the bed and starts screaming about them being in her spot. We aren't talking cute little mews, we are talking screams that sound like she is being strangled. Who needs music to sleep too? Next its time to move the cats. I suggest that Mr. Bernie  move his cats so Gwynnie and I can crawl into bed. He just chuckles and tells Gwynnie, "Shut up you toothless … [Read more...]

We Lived to Tell The Tale

bil

Mr. Bernie and I  are quite lucky when it comes to car troubles, we really don't have them often. This month has been extra special and seems to be making up for all the years of being trouble-free. At the beginning of the month we had a screw in our tire and Mr. Bernie limped the car over to a tire place. A traded bunch of money we don't have, for a set of new tires. We thought that would be it for the month or year. We were wrong. Last night we stopped at the local grocery store to pick up some cat food for the cats. We ran in the store, did our shopping and were all ready to go home. Boy, were we surprised when the car wouldn't start. I was hoping it was a glitch. Mr. Bernie tried and nothing. Well that is a lie, the radio and other things came on, just not our car. Mr. Bernie said quite a few naughty words, many rhyming with the word truck. What were we going to do? We don't live in town, so we didn't want to call someone out to drive us home. Mr. Bernie is good at … [Read more...]

Bernie’s Big Birthday Bash

Starting on the left side, Tammi, Jenny, Lyn, Mandy around the right side, Cheryl, Cathie, Anne and Michele

One of the things I miss by living in Montana are birthday parties with girlfriends. Roy does he best every year to do something special for me. However, the girl in me wants to have a party with a group of friends. That is something that has not been possible since I have moved to Montana. Jenny decided if she was going to fly me home for my birthday, by God I was going to have a party too. She sent messages to my girlfriends inviting them to one of my favorite restaurants on my birthday. I told her that if anyone asked if they needed to bring a gift, tell them no. I didn't need gifts, having everyone come out to celebrate my birthday was gift enough. The plan was to meet at 6pm at one of my favorite restaurants for dinner.  A lovely unexpected surprise was extra people at the party. An old friend, who I have not seen in years, read about the party on Facebook. She told another friend that she would like to go, the more the merrier! I'm so glad she did that. With something like … [Read more...]
