That Donkey Guy

It's not often that I can get Mr. Bernie to watch a video on YouTube. He thinks most of them are dumb, girly, blah, blah. I finally found a video series that causes him to come running when he hears the "theme music."  That Donkey Guy He loves ThatDonkeyGuy! The only bad thing is listening to the Mr. doing the Latin accent for an hour after watching. Dweej from House Unseen and her husband make the videos. The topic range from anything and everything. Today, I want to share one of Mr. Bernie's favorites.  Be sure to watch the whole thing, at the end it will flash Donkey, but there is a couple of seconds left.  Have a wonderful Saturday!! … [Read more...]

How to Entertain an Engineer

Mr. Bernie is an Engineer with a Master's degree. He enjoys brain puzzles, math, and physics - None of which I give a fig about. That is what make our marriage so great. It's really quite hard to get something over on the man. Math games, bring them up. Sudoku, piece of cake. It seems that I have my own branch of Mensa in my house. My folks like to find puzzles and give them to him. The latest one they sent him is a doozy. It only had nine pieces. Mr. Bernie looked at it and snorted. He thought he could finish that in no time flat. Nine pieces; four orientations each, nine places to put them. That looked easy enough. My mom called to tell us that her nephew in-law, the architect, got it put together in no time flat. J. is also a very bright man. Mr. Bernie figured that he should get it done in about the same amount of time. Turns out they were teasing, J. didn't finish it. My Dad was so tickled to stump Mr. Bernie that he had to call and tease him. My Dad wouldn't call someone, … [Read more...]

Follow Friday Four Fill-In

Welcome to the 9th weekly Follow Friday Four Fill-in Fun Blog Hop! Each week, Hilary lists four statements with a blank for you to fill in on your own blogs. If you want to join the fun and come up with four fill in’s of your own, please email them to her at If she uses them, she will add you as co-host to the hop! So, please tweet, FaceBook share, and add the linky to your post… This week's co-host is ME!!!  I submitted the last two statements 1.      If not for my significant other, I’d never eat fruits and veggies. He is so good about adding those things to our meals. He even hides them in my food. What a helper bee he is! 2.   On more than one occasion, I have slept in a car. That was the nice safe and not naughty answer. I'm a great car sleeper. Mr. Bernie does most of the driving, so I can sleep on long trips. Something about the motion of the car that does it. 3.      The worst meal I ever made was a birthday dinner and cake for Mr. … [Read more...]

Modge Podge – Hodge Podge

Welcome to another edition of Project 2011.  Every Thursday we all post about our goals for that week. It helped me to become more crafty. I also enjoy following the progress of the other gals. It was started by Cate at Moments of Whimsy Last weekend I had such grand plans of things I wanted to get done. The husband was gone and I was going to spend the whole weekend crafting. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I did get some Modge Podge done. I also got a couple of cards made. Not quite the huge crafting session I had planned. Darn t.v.! I tried Modge Podge and found I really enjoyed it. My first attempt was very thick. I thought that the more of that slop I slapped on the paper, the better. I learned that less is more with this stuff. My first label turned out really thick. I'm still pleased with it. It's a learning curve and I know better. I used an image from The Graphics Fairy I poured over pages of images.  I wanted to find, just the right one. Here is the … [Read more...]

Pranks -R- Us

My folks winter in Florida. My Auntie and Uncle, mom's sister, winter in the same area. They are both tickled when they get company. When the grand-kids come its fun, fun, fun. Because their houses are so close together, when Auntie has company they go visit mom as well.  It works out nice for them all. Last year, my brother and his kids were in Florida the same time as my cousin and her kids. Somehow the two families got into a pranking war.  My cousin and her kids put a million post it notes all over my mom's van. Things like, Last name's rule, Last name's drool! I thought that was pretty funny. Mom put a rummage sale sign in Aunties yard. She listed the time as 6am and early birds were welcome. My cousin's kids, Miss L and Mr. S,  had such fun with  last year that they wanted to prank Auntie Rit and Uncle Bud again this year. Poor Mom and Dad don't have any kids visiting at the same time. So that means they are on their own. One morning my mom told me, "Bern, I need to go buy … [Read more...]

Meet Me on Monday

Welcome to another edition of Meet Me on Monday Blog Hop. Hosted by Java at Never Growing Old. It's a fun hop and a great way to start a Monday! Each week she asks five questions and we answer them on our blogs. What are your answers to these questions? 1.  Caesar Salad or Garden Salad? Garden salad. NO tomatoes.  Lots of onions, cucumbers, maybe some carrots. See those are veggies. 2.  Will you be watching the Royal Wedding on April 29th? I'm not sure. I barely know what I'm doing tomorrow, much less towards the end of the month. My mom woke me up to watch the last Royal wedding. She told me that it was something I would only see once in my life. She loved the beautiful dress and so on. 3.  Last thing you spent lots of money on? Our wedding in October. It was worth every penny. I would have been happy to marry him wearing a paper bag in a courthouse. However, I'm thrilled with what we did do. I have no idea what our next big purchase will be. I know we plan on going … [Read more...]
